Dear Kindergarten Families and Friends,
This week, we continued learning letter names and sounds, focusing on how to print X/x and Q/q. Students continued to work on their Mandarin book about their family, learning the words for Older Brother (哥哥) . We reviewed the phrase ‘this is’ (这是) and use that to express Me (我), Dad (爸爸), Mom (妈妈) and Older Brother (哥哥) in Mandarin. Students also had fun recognizing these Mandarin words and practicing tracing them.
We had a Book Fair this week. Students had the opportunity to explore and buy interesting books, posters and school supplies.

本周,我们继续学习字母名称和发音,重点学习了字母 X 和 Q的大小写。孩子们继续完成他们的家庭主题小书,学习了用中文说“哥哥”。我们也复习了“这是”句型,并用它来表达“我”,“爸爸”,“妈妈”和“哥哥”。他们在阅读中认字,并描红,学得非常开心!
本周,我们还举办了书展。孩子们有机会挑选并购买自己感兴趣的书籍、海报和学习用品。

Read and write 0-10 in Mandarin
Practice printing the numerals 0-10
Count every day. In class, we are practicing 1-100
Please read to your child every day.
