Tuesday AM - dumpling making from 9:00-11:30am. We are still looking for donation for 2 heads of cabbage, and any
rolling pins (擀面杖)if you are able to donate cabbages or loan
us your rolling pins, please let me know! (Thank you for supporting our learning,
we now have enough parent volunteers) ❤

Mandarin Home Reading:
With the weekly homework (Mandarin writing& reading, math, science) and
dictation words practices at home. I have decided NOT to send
home-readings for students this semester. However, that does not mean students will not work
on readings in class. I will continue to have one-one guided reading time with
students each day.

Math数学:
Grade
1: Starting from this week, we will be moving into the new
chapter, we will start looking at shape and space. This week, grade 1s will be
learning how to identify common attributes, the differences between length,
mass, volume and area. Students will also be learning about how to order a set
of objects by length, mass, volume or area. They will know how to compare between
two or more objects, and determine which object is heaviest/lightest,
longest/shortest, most/least by filling, greatest/least area.
Grade 2: Grade 2s will be moving on to the new chapter shape and space.
Students will learn how to estimate, measure and record the length, height,
distance around or mass of a given object. They will be learning how to use
non-standard units and ruler to measure objects.
Science科学:
Grade 1s will be talking about seeds and the growing season.
Grade 2s will be using the ideas they came up with last class to build
their boat using recycled materials.
