Trickster performing workshops (preparations for the winter concert), we
continue learning and reviewing about seasons, temperatures, weather, and
Arctic animals this week.

Mandarin中文:
With the busy performing workshops happening, we will be focusing on
word recognition and conversational practices this week. We will keep learning
and reviewing about seasons, temperature, weather and Arctic animals. We are
going to continue working on practice using and writing our Mandarin name.

Math数学:
Grade 1: This week, grade 1s
will continue learning about subtraction, we will be looking at 2 more mental
math strategies to solve subtraction questions. At the end of the week,
students will be able to use more than 4 ways to solve simple subtraction
questions.
We will also be
working on identifying patterns in our classroom, around the school, and in our
daily life.
Grade 2: Grade 2s will be working on double-digit addition and subtraction.
Students will also be working on identifying increasing patterns in numerical
and non-numerical form.
Science科学:
Grade 1s will be discussing polar bear and snowy owl’s habitat, and how
those animals stay warm in winter.
Grade 2s will be discussing “how do polar bears stay warm?” and make
connections to buoyancy science (we are going to learn about boat and buoyancy
after winter break) about if they think polar bears buoyant?
