This is a short week, no school on Thursday and Friday.
We will be celebrating friendship/valentine’s day and we will also have curling
tournament during gym class this week. J

Plant project: We have planted
tomatoes 🍅 in our classroom
last week!!! J our plants will
likely to harvest in 60-70 days. Be prepared for some tasty tomatoes coming
home!!

updates(pictures) on the growth of our plants on my blog.
Feb.3-12 – Rocks and Rings Curling Residency. Kids are learning how to play
curling.
Pictures of our
curling classes will be posted the end of this week. Stay tuned for more

Mandarin Home Reading:
With the weekly homework (Mandarin writing& reading, math, science) and
dictation words practices at home. I have decided NOT to send
home-readings for students. However, that does not mean students will not work
on readings in class. I will continue to have one-one guided reading time with
students each day.

Grade
1: So far, Grade 1s have learned the differences between
length and height, capacity(volume) and weight(mass). This week, grade 1s will be
learning how to identify the differences between 2D shapes and 3D objects. We
will play different learning games to help them sort 2D Shapes and 3D objects.
Grade 2: Grade 2s will be learning about how to estimate, measure and
record the length, height, distance around or mass of a given object. This
week, grade 2s will also be working on identify the differences between 2D Shapes and Objects, they will learn to use attributes to
sort 2D Shapes and 3D objects.
Science科学:
Grade 1s will be making a 4-season cycle wheels craft to finish this chapter!! J
Grade 2s will be testing their boats, and see if it floats on water.
