January 7^th - First day back! Class starts at 8:00am.

January 9^th – Midnapore School Open House 6:30pm-7:30pm. (If you have friends or family members that are interested in our Mandarin Bilingual program, please come to our open house night J)

January 23^rd – Chinese New Year Celebration at 6:30 pm.

Dec 16-19 Learning Updates

Hi families,

It is the last week of school before the winter break! Christmas and the new year is almost here! 💖

Reminders提醒:

December 19^th is a half-day. Early dismissal @ 12:05pm.

December 20^th, NO school for students. First day of Winter break.

Winter break: From Dec.20-Jan 6

First day of school back is on Tuesday, January 7^th @ 8:00am.

Report card: Our first formal written report card is coming home on Thursday.

This week (Dec.16-19) is all about being together and having fun!

We will work on finishing up our Christmas crafts. We will also learn about simple phrases like “Merry Christmas 圣(shèng) 诞(dàn) 快(kuài) 乐(lè)” and “Happy New Year 新(xīn) 年(nián) 快(kuài) 乐(lè)” in Mandarin. We will learn fun Mandarin caroling songs throughout the week.

Math数学:

-We will continue working on number representation with base ten blocks and tally marks.

-We will also work on compare things using symbols.

-We will also work on some fun Christmas math related worksheets.

Science科学:

Grade 1s will be talking about day & night cycle.

Grade 2s will test their predictions on if certain things will float or sink.
