Important Reminders 重要提醒:
1）No class on Friday, Sept.27下周五学生们不上课。
2）Our library book exchange is every Wednesday & Thursday. Your child brought home one book this week. Please return this book on or before Wednesday/Thursday so that your child can sign out another book.
3）National Day for Truth and Reconciliation There will be no school on September 30th in observance of Canada's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Midnapore School will honor this day on Thursday, September 26th with a school-wide walking field trip to Fish Creek Park. Students will read "With Our Orange Hearts" by Phyllis Webstad and write reflections based on the four areas of the Medicine Wheel: Mind, Body, Spirit, and Heart. All students and staff are encouraged to wear orange shirts, and volunteers are welcome to join.
4）Sept.26 & 27 Midnapore meet the teacher open house 家长会. Our parent-teacher interviews are approaching! You have two options:
-Open House: Join us on September 26th, between 4-6 PM, to tour our learning space, review your child's work, have a brief chat with me, and enjoy food from the Calgary YYC food trucks. We’ve arranged for four food trucks to be present so families can enjoy a meal together.
-One-on-One Meetings: If you prefer a more detailed discussion, you can schedule a 15-minute individual meeting with me on Friday, September 27th. Please sign up for a time slot using the link below.

- We learned about the Mid-Autumn Festival, its traditions, and the story behind it! We also created a cool moon-themed painting to celebrate.

- We continue to learn about Terry Fox and his brave journey to raise money for cancer research. We will run next week as a school to honor his legacy and continue his mission to help find a cure for cancer.

Math数学 & Science 科学:
- We are practicing counting 1-10 and 10-1.
- We had a fun science class where we used our five senses to learn all about apples! We talked about how the apple looks, how it feels, how it sounds (haha), how it smells, and of course, how it tastes. The students loved exploring the apple in so many different ways!
- We read the story Pattern fish and made our own patterns using two or three colors.
