Important Reminders重要提醒:

1. Tuesday/Thursday class have school on Friday, Oct.11 下周五是周二/周四班上课。
2. Our library book exchange is every Wednesday/Thursday. Your child brought home one book this week. Please return this book on or before Wednesday so that your child can sign out another book. 图书馆日是每周三/周四，请督促孩子看完书后及时还回学校以便借下周的书。
3. Picture Day  照相日Please note we have adjusted our Photo Day for Midnapore School.  Pictures and photo day for Midnapore School will now be on October 17^th & October 18^th.  我们的照相日是十月十七日/十八日。
4. Special Request 特殊请求:We are seeking out donations of small used but clean pants (sizes 4-10). These will be used as a change of clothes in the event of spills, accidents, etc. If you have anything at home that you are able to donate, it will be greatly appreciated.

• We continue to say thank you and you’re welcome in Mandarin (Thank you 谢谢，You are welcome 不客气)
• We learned to recognize and order number 6-10 in Mandarin, we played a few games about it! (六，七，八，九，十)
• We reviewed all four printing strokes in Mandarin 横一，竖丨，撇丿，捺㇏
• We learned to print Chinese number 4 四, we will practice more about it next week!

English 英文：

• We are continuing to practice recognizing and printing our names.
• This week, we learned to print the letters "s" and "t”
• We read the book The Way I Feel and discussed the different emotions we experience. Then, we drew three mini self-portraits to show three different emotions, using paint to represent each feeling.
• Monday/Wednesday class met with their grade 3 buddies and had a fun activity with them! Tuesday/Thursday class will meet their buddies next Friday!

Math数学 & Science 科学

• We continue to practicing counting 1-10 and 10-1 and recognizing numbers from 1-10.
• We practiced representing quantities up to 10 using blocks and nature items (for example: pinecones, fall leaves, sticks, branches...etc.) to show numbers from 1-10.
• We read a book called “We are going on a nature hunt!” We took a lovely trip outside to gather treasures from nature to represent numbers 1-10. It was such a joyful experience being in the crisp autumn air! We also took a moment to lay down and use our five senses to truly enjoy the peaceful fall afternoon.
